Veselības ministrs Daniels Pavļuts uzsver, cik svarīgi ir savlaicīgi notvert jaunā Covid-19 paveida omikrona ienākšanu Latvijā.
Lai to izdarītu, Pavļuts aicina plašāk izmantot iespēju veikt bezmaksas Covid-19 testu lidostā.

Jau iepriekš vēstījām, ka intervijā Latvijas Radio raidījumam “Labrīt!” Pavļuts Covid-19 omikrona varianta nonākšanu Latvijā vērtēja kā likumsakarīgu. Viņš uzsvēra, ka Veselības ministrijas centieni bija vērsti uz to, lai šī jaunā slimības varianta nonākšanu mūsu valstī maksimāli aizkavētu un nepalaistu garām, kad tas notiks, bet tagad svarīgākais būs novērst tā transmisiju valsts iekšienē.

Veselības ministrs atgādināja, ka pagaidām vēl nav atbilžu uz daudziem svarīgiem jautājumiem par to, vai omikrona variants ir bīstamāks vai lipīgāks par citiem Covid-19 slimību izraisošā vīrusa paveidiem, un nav arī skaidrs, cik efektīvi pret to darbojas līdz šim izmantotās vakcīnas un citu Covid-19 variantu pārslimošanas gaitā izstrādājusies imunitāte.
